Animate Old Photos

Updated · Turnly

Upload the old photo below ("Come alive" is already picked) and the AI adds gentle, natural motion: the person blinks, breathes and smiles, and the room or the trees move a little. You get a 10-second video in a few minutes for $9.99; pick "Wave hello" instead for a wave to the camera.

What the AI does to an old photo

Step by step

  1. Scan or photograph the print flat, in even light, without glare. Crop it so one or two faces fill a good part of the frame.
  2. Upload it above (no sign-in needed). "Come alive" is picked; add a line of your own if you like, for example "she turns to the camera and smiles".
  3. Pay once: a 10-second 720p video on Seedance 2.0 Fast is $9.99 on its own (one payment, no subscription), or 40 credits; credits from $9.99 for 40.
  4. Wait 2 to 5 minutes; the video shows up on the page and in My videos. Download the MP4.

Which old photos work best?

A single portrait or a couple, faces turned to the camera and not too small. Big group photos, tiny faces and very blurry prints come out less sharp, and hands can warp.

Whose photos can I animate?

Only people who were adults when the photo was taken, so no childhood pictures. They have to agree, or have passed away and be your own family. No public figures. Every video is labelled AI-generated.
